The road in the rock built by Mayer, which was donated to Capri by Krupp

Via Krupp is undoubtedly the queen of the Capri roads. The rocky road, built on rocky rock, immersed in the Mediterranean scrub is one of the most beautiful streets in the world. It connects the Augusto Gardens with Torre Saracena and Marina Piccola, a kilometer and three hundred meters long, representing the second connecting link between Piccola Marina and the village, after Via Mulo and before making the car road.
This civic artwork was designed and made by the Neapolitan engineer and architect Emilio Mayer.
Via Krupp, which was inaugurated in April 1902, is called Krupp for a tribute to Friedrich Alfred Krupp , third-born of the powerful and wealthy German dynasty of steel. Friedrich Alfred Krupp built at his own expense the road for his love to Capri and to make a better connection to Marina Piccola, where he had his boat moored, to the center of Capri where Krupp often he stayed at Grand Hotel Quisisana.

Via Krupp for maintenance work is closed to the public. To see Via Krupp you have to look out over the terraces of the Augusto Gardens
